This light-weight 'katan' saree, originating in Benaras, is hand-woven using pure silk threads. The fabric is fine, soft and glossy. A quietly elegant sea green-coloured 'katan' silk saree, it features Madhubani artwork. This is done using a variety of instruments such as fingers, twigs, paint brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks. The saree features sriking patterns comprising lines, dots and cursive waves in border and Pallu has Delicate Madhubani print motifs, in the blue and pink colour combination. An imposing 3-inch-wide border in white, frames the entire garment. The saree is most suited for casual and semi-formal daytime events. The blouse and petticoat worn by the model are not included. However, a running blouse piece is included.
The saree is made using natural dyes and extracts. Variations in weave texture, colours and print may occur in hand-made products.
