The word ‘jamdani’ is believed to be of Persian origin, derived from 'Jam' (meaning flower) and 'Dani' (meaning vase). Over the last few decades, the art of jamdani weaving has witnessed a revival due to support from the governments and non-government organizations in both India and Bangladesh. Jamdani was originally known as Dhakai named after the city of Dhaka.
This orange jamdani with threadwork is quite the showstopper. The whole saree has 'matka' designs hence called "Ghat Jamdanis" The saree is most suitable for informal day or nighttime events. And will look rather chic but in a playful way when styled with white beaded/Pearl jewelry. Best draped tightly.
The blouse and petticoat worn by the model are not included. Blouse piece is not included.
