The word ‘jamdani’ is believed to be of Persian origin, derived from 'Jam' (meaning flower) and 'Dani' (meaning vase). Over the last few decades, the art of jamdani weaving has witnessed a revival due to support from the governments and non-government organizations in both India and Bangladesh. Jamdani was originally known as Dhakai named after the city of Dhaka.
This is milk white handwoven jamdani with white thread work. The saree is most suitable for informal day or night time events. And will look rather chic but in a playful way when styled with white beaded/Pearl jewelry. Best draped tightly. The blouse and petticoat worn by the model are not included. This Saree is without a blouse piece.
